Long time University of Toronto women's water polo consultant coach Paul Pottier was recently inducted into the Water Polo Canada Hall of Fame.
Pottier represented Canada in the 1976 and 1984 Olympic Games. He finished fourth in goals scored with 12 at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. He also played in multiple Pan Am Games, World Championships and World Student Games (FISU).
In Canada, Pottier was the major goal scorer for the Hamilton Aquatic Club that won numerous national titles in the 1970's. He also led McMaster University to three consecutive undefeated seasons and OUA championships.
For almost two decades, Pottier has provided his expertise to the Varsity Blues women's water polo squads through his role as the team's consultant. Along the way he was able to coach his daughter Casey who was captain of the Blues in 2011. Pottier's two sons, Jake and Max, also played water polo for the Blues.
