VARSITY BLUES KEEP THE STREAK, WINNING 11TH STRAIGHT BANNER

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's water polo team claimed National Collegiate Water Polo (NCWP) gold, defeating the Queen's Gaels 21-2 in the championship final on Sunday (Dec. 1) in Kingston, Ont.

The win maintained an impressive championship streak for the Varsity Blues, claiming their 11th straight conference title, and 15th in program history.

Additionally, U of T delivered on a perfect season, finishing the 2024 fall campaign with an unblemished 13-0 record. Toronto were dominant in the championship weekend, outscoring their opponents 39-3 across both the semifinal and gold medal matches.

Varsity Blues athletes received plenty of recognition as third-year attacker Sarah August received Championship MVP honours, while Hana Truchla was once again named Outstanding Goalie. First-year attacker Julia Mic was also named Rookie of the Year. And in his first year as head coach of the Varsity Blues women's water polo program, Evan Price earned Coach of the Year honours.
