The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team opened their preseason schedule with a 0-0 draw versus the Central Michigan Chippewas on Wednesday (Aug. 23) afternoon at Back Campus Fields. 
 
The Blues and Chippewas spent the duration of the match trading shots back-and-forth, but both goalies kept their teams in the game allowing no goals through the entirety of regulation. 
 
Following the tie with their NCAA Division I opponents, U of T will return to action on Sunday, September 3 when they face off against another team from across the border in Bates College. The exhibition contest at Back Campus Fields has a scheduled start time of 10 a.m.
