The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team defeated the Brock Badgers 19-2 on Day 2 of the OUA Championship in Kingston, booking their ticket to the semifinal matches.
U of T conclude the round-robin matches with a 1-1 record and a plus-11 goal differential which has secured top four positioning for the Blue and White heading into the final day of the championship.
In the early morning match versus the Badgers, the Blues were relentless in their pursuit of a strong victory, establishing a 13-0 lead heading into just the halftime break.
Leading the Blues on the scoresheet were fourth-year middie Rylin Cormier, who registered a game-high seven goals and an assist, and second-year middie Rheanna Swanson who tallied four goals and an assist. Additionally, both Lily Brooks and Mary Frost recorded a hat-trick apiece, with the latter also adding four assists on the day. Michaela Kitor and Alexei Dokis-Dupuis rounded out the Blues scoring with single markers each.
The Blues will be back on the pitch at 9 a.m. tomorrow (Oct. 29) morning for an OUA Championship semifinal match. Their opponent will be determined based on further results from today.
