BLUES CARRY MOMENTUM INTO SUNDAY VICTORY

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team split their Sunday (Oct. 15) afternoon doubleheader in Oshawa, dropping their opening match 15-8 versus Western, before defeating Guelph 12-10.

In the Sunday opener, fourth-year midfielder Rylin Cormier continued to add to her impressive season with four goals scored versus a tough opponent in the Mustangs. Joining her on the scoresheet was Alexei Dokis-Dupuis who notched a hat-trick, and Isabella Ward who tallied a single marker to round on the Blues scoring.

Back on the field versus the Gryphons, Cormier scored a hat-trick, adding two assists to secure a five point outing in the victory. Rheanna Swanson registered a team-high five goals, while Lily Brooks and Mary Frost each chipped in two.

U of T have now won three of their last five games, with only two games remaining in their regular season schedule. The Blues will next travel to Waterloo on Saturday, Oct. 21 where they will challenge the Laurier Golden Hawks and McMaster Maraduers in a season finale doubleheader. Following the Saturday series, Toronto will then head to Kingston for the OUA Championship scheduled for Oct. 27-29.
