12 PODIUM FINISHES ON DAY 2 OF CAN AM CLASSIC

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field teams wrapped up the 40th annual Can Am Classic on Saturday, January 14 in Windsor, Ont.

MEN'S RESULTS: The No. 2 nationally-ranked Blues were led by reigning OUA and U SPORTS high jump champion Aiden Grout, who cleared 2.15m to win the event in his season debut.
 
Emmett Bravakis continued his winning ways, placing first in the men's 300m in a time of 34.75 seconds, while Jack Djondric-Powell was third in the 1500m in 4:01.97.
 
Eric Che finished second in the long jump (7.28m), while Jarod Manuel was second in the weight throw with a throw of 15.54m. Matthew Loenhart was fourth (13.73m).
 
Moses Aidoo won the men's 600m in 1:20.63, while Nick Trieu was third in 1:22.03. Brandon Tang finished sixth in the 60m dash (7.02).
 
Caiden Schultz, Aidoo, Trieu and Bravakis also earned a third-place finish in the 4x400 relay in 3:24.06.
 
WOMEN'S RESULTS: Veteran jumper Jasmine Lew led the No. 4 nationally-ranked Blues women's team, placing first in the long jump with a distance of 5.88m.
 
Emma Dale tied for third in the high jump, clearing 1.65m, while Voke Ewhrudjakpor placed sixth in the women's weight throw (13.40m).
 
On the track, Jade Lenton placed second in the women's 600m in 1:35.24, while Julia Berube Boutin was fifth in 1:38.21. Lenton and Berube Boutin then teamed up with Emily Wilke and Sophie Myles to place second in the women's 4x400 relay (4:03.79).
