Box Score Winning their sixth straight match, the Varsity Blues remained without a loss in the 2022 OUA regular season Sunday afternoon in Kingston, following a 6-0 victory over the Queen's Gaels.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Following a scoreless first twenty minutes of the play, the Blues were able to find their way onto the score board midway through the second quarter. Registering the first goal of the game, Madeline Sherwood put the Blues up 1-0 in the 21
st minute. Then just two minutes later, Toronto was able to double their lead on a goal from Emily Ziraldo.
Holding a 2-0 lead at the half, the Blues continued to push the pace in the third quarter. Scoring just three minutes into the second half, Ziara Scaringi made it 3-0 Blues. After scoring eleven goals last week, Sam McCrory continued her strong play with back-to-back goals, the first in the 44
th minute and the second in the 52
nd minute, putting Toronto up 5-0.
Scaringi would go on to tally her second goal of the game just a minute later to round out the scoring.
Veteran goalie, Deepi Gill picked up the win in net for the Blues.
UP NEXT: The Blues will now return to Toronto and prepare to host the Gaels on October 12. The match will take place at Back Campus Fields at 7:00 p.m.
