Getting in their final weekend of preparations before hosting the 2022 OUA championship, the Varsity Blues played a pair of games on Saturday.
Â
Battling the Guelph Gryphons and the Western Mustangs, the Blues found themselves on the wrong end of 6-5 and 12-6 scores.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED: Playing Guelph in their first game of the day, the Blues had five different student-athletes find the score sheet with Kristie Liu, Rylin Cromier, Rheanna Swanson, Jessica DiAntonio and Piper Sinyard all registering goals.
Â
Unfortunately for the Blues, they would wind up just one goal shy of the Gryphons when the final whistle blew.
Â
In the latter half of their two games, Toronto got a pair of goals from both Cromier and Swanson, to go along with singles from DiAntonio and Lauren Wilcox.
Â
In the end though, Western's attack would prove too much using five goals in the third quarter to begin separating from the Blues.
Â
UP NEXT: The Blues will conclude their regular season schedule on October 16 when they take on the Brock Badgers. Toronto will then host the OUA championship from October 21-23.
