The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2021 season with a 1-1 record, just shy of the semifinals at the 2021 OUA championship in Oshawa, Ont.

The Blues dominated in their first game of the day, topping the Brock Badgers 15-7, before dropping a 16-2 decision to the Queen's Gaels on Saturday night. The Blues did not qualify for the semifinals based on point differential, missing out by just one goal.

The Blues built a 3-1 advantage after the first quarter and exploded for five unanswered goals in the second frame to lead 8-1 at the half. Toronto added another five in the third quarter to build a commanding 13-1 lead heading into the final frame.

Third-year attack Mary Frost led the Blues with four goals, while rookie midfielder Lily Brooks had three goals. Lily Sedore and Rylin Cormier each scored twice, with Jessica Diantonio, Giulianna Frizzi, Kristie Liu and Madison Spruit each adding single tallies in the win.

Goalie Olivia Hofmann was named the Blues player of the game.

Second-year attack Jessica Diantonio scored both goals for the Blues.

The Queen's Gaels were led by Jaedyn Small, who scored four goals, while Kiah Shanks finished with three goals of her own.
Hofmann was named Blues player of the game for a second time.Â
