BLUES WIN OUA REGIONAL QUALIFIER

The host University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's tennis team wrapped up the OUA regional qualifier with a 6-1 victory over the York Lions on Sunday at Mayfair Club East.
 
U of T, who also defeated the Waterloo Warriors yesterday, finish first at the regional qualifier and advance to the OUA gold-medal final. The Western Mustangs, who won the other regional qualifying tournament over McMaster and Brock, will host the OUA final on Saturday, October 23.
 
Four Blues were double winners on the day. Rassam Yazdi took the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-2 over York's Andres Findlay and also teamed up with Rahul Jaideep wo win the No. 2 doubles match. Eric Cherniy won in the No. 2 singles and doubles spots, while Zack Willson and Bijan Shahriari won their respective singles matches and teamed up to take the No. 3 doubles point.
