The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's tennis team defeated the Brock Badgers 5-2 at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus on Sunday (Oct. 5) afternoon.

In doubles action U of T won all three matches to secure the first point of the afternoon. Standing out for the Blues was first-year arts and science student Lucas Mock and seventh-year aerosciences student Rassam Yazdi, winning their match 8-2.

In singles play, Brock took the first two matches before a three-set victory from first-year engineering student Alex Zhang evened the score. Zhang's win began four straight points going Toronto's way as third-year Charles Zheng, first-year Luka Kirigin and first-year Adam Abboud all claimed victory in two sets.

U of T and Brock match up in the OUA quarter-final on Friday (Oct. 10) at the Mayfair Club in Toronto. Opening serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
