The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's squash team finished fourth overall at the 2020 OUA championships, February 7-9, hosted by Brock University in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.
Â
Toronto went 2-1 in pool play, defeating McMaster 7-0 and Guelph 6-1 before dropping a 5-2 decision to the Western Mustangs.
Â
That set up a semifinal matchup with the six-time reigning champion Queen's Gaels. The Blues fought valiantly, with Alexa Lanese earning U of T's lone point in the No. 6 spot, forcing Toronto into a bronze-medal tilt with the Mustangs.
Â
U of T's No. 1 player Rhea Dhar scored the Blues lone point, defeating Western's Amy Commisso 3-1 in the bronze-medal match loss. Dhar was also named an OUA all-star.Â
