The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team dropped a 9-6 decision to the Queen's Gaels before topping the UOIT Ridgebacks 18-7 on Sunday, September 23 in Peterborough, Ont.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Toronto and Queen's were tied 3-3 at the half before the Gaels put on the pressure to come away with the win. Laurel McGillis led the Blues with one goal and one assist, while Heather McDougall, Mary Frost, Brynne Yarranton and Mary-Anne Meerasabeer all scored once in the loss.
The Blues dominated the Ridgebacks in the second game of the day. McDougall led the way with five goals and four assists, while Yarranton had three goals and three assists. Lauren Li also scored a hat trick, while Sarah Morgan, Frost and Meerasabeer tallied twice each. Rebecca Tomasi rounded out the score with one goal.
UP NEXT: The Blues head to Hamilton, Ont., next Saturday, September 29 to take on the York Lions (3:00pm) and Trent Excalibur (6:45pm).
