BLUES RETURN TO OTTAWA WITH ANOTHER UPSET IN MIND

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team heads back to our nation's capital for an OUA quarter-final tilt with the top seeded Ottawa Gee-Gees this Sunday, October 28.

The match will be streamed live on OUA.tv, starting at 1:00pm.

Toronto is looking to play upset again and earn a spot in the OUA Final Four for the first time since 2004.

The sixth-seeded Blues secured a birth in the quarter-finals against with a 1-0 shut out win over the No. 3 Carleton Ravens on Wednesday night. Third-year goalkeeper Vanna Staggolis logged six saves to earn the clean sheet, while fifth-year captain Chelsea Cheung added the lone tally for the Blues.

The Gee-Gees are coming off of a first round bye after finishing atop the OUA East division with a 14-1-1 record. Ottawa took the season series, 2-0, with a 2-1 win at Toronto on Sept. 9 and a 2-0 victory in Ottawa on Oct. 6.

If the Blues can pull off the upset, they would advance to the OUA Final Four, which would be hosted by the highest remaining seed in the West.
