BLUES MEDAL AT NATIONAL FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Members of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's fencing teams competed at the national championships in Gatineau, Que., this past weekend.
 
Leading Toronto's women was second-year anthropology/ecology major Siobhan Drysdale. The London, Ont., native earned a silver medal in the individual university division women's foil, while also helping her team to a second-place finish in the foil team event. Rebecca Jeffrey also earned a silver medal in the women's university sabre event. 
 
Colin Dale competed in the senior and junior men's epee events, reaching the round of 16 in the junior event, losing to the eventual bronze medalist.
 
William Kinney and Filbert Yung earned the silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the university division men's sabre event, while Paul Godin and Yu Chen Yao tied for the bronze medal in university men's foil action.
