Competing at the York Open this past weekend, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues fencing team earned three medals in preparation for the upcoming Ontario provincial championships.

Competing in the senior men's foil event, veteran Paul Godin earned a silver medal.

Matching Godin's silver in the sabre event was first-year forensics science major Filburt Yung.

Meanwhile, on the women's side Toronto earned two bronze medals with third-year sabre specialist Buke Arya earning bronze in the senior women's sabre category and second-year foilist Siobhan Drysdale picking up the third step in the women's foil event.

The Varsity Blues next compete in the Ontario championships this Saturday, March 4.
