The Varsity Blues won its second straight game against California opposition in dramatic fashion.
Â
The Blues cruised out to a 6-2 second quarter lead and then sagged to 10-10 regulation time score.
Â
In the second overtime period, Megan MacCormac (Ottawa) converted a penalty shot to secure the win.
Â
MacCormac led the way with four goals, while co-captain Ana Miroslavic (Toronto) netted a hattrick. Â Ali Kraft (California) and Kassie Fraser (Vancouver) added a pair of goals each.

Â
A few hours later the Blues were back in the pool to face a tough Whittier squad. Â The Blues employed a slowdown tactic that got the team within one goal (5-4) with a minute to go in the third quarter. Â However, there was no more gas in their tanks and the Blues fell 8-4.
Â
MacCormac again led the way with two goals while singles went to Kraft and Fraser.
Â
The  Blues completed their first-ever NCAA California schools tour with a record of 2-4.
Â
Next weekend the Blues travel to Boston for the Harvard Invitational and four games against NCAA Division 1 universities.
