Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team dropped a narrow 3-2 decision to the No. 7 nationally ranked Queen's Gaels in their regular season finale on Saturday night (Oct. 21) at Varsity Stadium.

The Blues end their regular season with a 7-7-2 record, currently placing them fifth place in the OUA East division. Toronto awaits the results of Sunday's games to determine where they will travel for the first round of the playoffs this Wednesday.

Queen's got on the score sheet first with rookie forward Alexandra Doane scoring in the 23rd minute.

With just a minute left in the first half, the Gaels added some cushion with a goal from Jenny Wolever and went into the half up 2-0.

In the 52nd minute of the match, the Gaels were awarded a penalty kick, which Laura Callender would take advantage of to bring her team to a 3-0 lead.

However, the Blues would battle back with rookie midfielder Kristin Parkes capitalizing on a loose ball in front of the net just two minutes later.

Toronto would bring the game within one in the 76th minute with Chelsea Cheung finishing a free kick taken by Christine Mulligan, but the Blues were unable to find the back of the net again.

Toronto goalkeeper Vanna Staggolis made two saves in the loss.
