WOMEN’S LACROSSE TIES LAURIER, BEATS MCMASTER

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team played to a 14-14 tie with the Laurier Golden Hawks before defeating the McMaster Marauders 14-7 on Saturday, October 14 in Waterloo, Ont.
 
Veteran Sarah Jamieson led the Blues with five goals and one assist in the first game of the day. Geneva Calder added three goals and two assists, while Melissa Holland also scored three goals.
 
Mary Anne Meerasabeer tallied two goals, with Zoe Chad adding a single in the tie.
 
In the second game of the day, rookie Heather McDougall and veteran Laurel McGillis both led the Blues with three goals and one assist.
 
Sarah Morgan scored two and added two assists, while both Melissa Holland and Geneva Calder scored twice. Mary Anne Meerasabeer and Cynthia Wong added single tallies in the win.
 
The Blues wrap up their regular season at home tomorrow, hosting the Brock Badgers at Varsity Stadium at 12 p.m.
