DALE REACHES PODIUM AT FENCING CANADA CUP

Traveling to Richmond, B.C., the University of Toronto Varsity Blues fencing team picked up a podium result at the Canada Cup event.

Second-year physics major Colin Dale picked up the top result for the Blues claiming a silver medal in the junior men's epee event. Then in the junior men's epee team event, partnered up with teammates based on the individual event results, Dale and company earned the top step on the podium with a gold medal result.

On the women's side, second-year kinesiology major Rebecca Jeffrey finished eighth in the junior women's sabre event.

Next up for the Varsity Blues will be the OUA championships. The women's competition takes place in two weeks (Feb. 11-12) in Kingston, Ont., followed by the men's event (Feb. 18-19) in St. Catharines, Ont., where U of T enters the weekend as the defending provincial champions.
