WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO GAELS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to the Queen's Gaels on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 25) in Kingston, Ont.
 
With the loss, the Blues drop to 3-5-1 and sit tied for sixth in the OUA East at the midway point of the season. 
 
The Gaels opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a goal from Laura Callender and were up 1-0 at the half.
 
Brittany Almeida put Queen's up by two in the 49th minute and the Gaels added back-to-back goals in the 77th minute to round out the win.
 
Blues goalkeeper Tori Edgar posted 10 saves in the loss.
 
The Blues return to action next Saturday, October 1 as they travel to Peterborough, Ont., to take on the Trent Excalibur. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
