BLUES EDGED BY NO. 3 GEE-GEES

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the No. 3 nationally ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 11).

Down 2-0 at the midway point of the match, the Blues rallied and played a solid second half.

Second-year Blues striker Natasha Klasios notched her fifth goal of the season after receiving a nice ball from rookie defender Anna Crone to cut the deficit to one in the 66th minute.

It was a tale of the keepers after that as Gee-Gees netminder Julie-Anne Lamarche made two key saves on Klasios and Chelsea Cheung, while Tori Edgar came up with a couple of key saves for the Blues.

Edgar ended the match with 10 saves.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Sunday, September 18 when they host the Ryerson Rams at Varsity Centre. Game time is set for 12 p.m. The match will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.
