Box Score Photo Gallery

Third-year striker Chelsea Cheung scored two goals as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team defeated the visiting RMC Paladins 2-0 Saturday afternoon (Oct. 8) at Varsity Stadium.

Cheung opened the scoring for the Blues in the 25th minute finishing off a beautiful cross from fourth-year midfielder Alyssa Golin.

Then just four minutes later Cheung struck again taking advantage of a wondering Paladins goalkeeper to convert a long 35-yard kick.

Toronto continued to pressure RMC throughout with only a few offside flags saving the Paladins scoreline.

Tori Edgar and Vanna Staggolis split time in net for the Blues with Staggolis being tested only once.

RMC keeper Alexandria Hogg made three saves on the afternoon.

The Varsity Blues will have no time to rest as they return to the pitch tomorrow afternoon versus the Queen's Gaels. Kickoff at Varsity Stadium is scheduled for 12 p.m.
