BLUES FALL TO NO. 9 GEE-GEES IN EXTRA TIME

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss in extra time to the No. 9 nationally ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees as their season came to an end in OUA playoff action on Wednesday night (Oct. 26).

The host Gee-Gees opened the scoring early in the first half as Emma Lefebvre scored off a corner kick.

The Blues responded though as second-year striker and leading scorer Natasha Klasios received a pass from Alexandra Rocha and sent a long ball over the Ottawa keeper's head and into the net.

The two teams were deadlocked at 1-1 at the half.

Fifth-year Blues netminder Tori Edgar came up with a slew of amazing saves to keep the game even after 90 minutes.

The Gee-Gees found their scoring touch in extra time though, as Morgan McNeil and Jenna Lu both scored to secure the victory.

Edgar ended the match with 15 saves.
