COME BACK WIN CLINCHES PLAYOFF SPOT

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team defeated the Carleton Ravens 2-1 Saturday afternoon (October 22) at Varsity Stadium and clinched an OUA playoff spot.
 
The win improves the Blues 7-7-1 as they sit in sixth place and clinch an OUA playoff spot.
 
Carleton got on the board first with a goal from Emily Copeland Dinan, assisted by Nicole Filipow in the 32nd minute.
 
The Blues had some good chances in the first half, but were unable to get the ball past Carleton goalkeeper Rada Mintchev. The first 45 minutes also saw some great defending from rookie Anna Crone.
 
U of T came out recharged and ready to battle in the second half. Senior Laura Krkachovsiki had a great chance to bury the ball off a corner kick, but just missed the net.
 
Down a player from a red card given to Krkachovsiki, Toronto's sophomore standout Natasha Klasios scored the equalizer in the 64th minute. Carleton almost regained the lead but Sarah Zutrayan's shot hit the crossbar in the 73rd minute.
 
Third-year Blues striker Chelsea Cheung scored a beautiful game-winning goal off a pass from Klasios in the 76th minute.
 
Toronto goalkeeper Tori Edgar posted five saves in the win.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow (October 23) as they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees in their regular season finale. Game time is set for 1 p.m. The match will also serve as women's soccer's Think Pink game in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Ontario Chapter.
