BLUES ONE STEP CLOSER TO PLAYOFFS WITH WIN OVER RAMS

Box Score Two second half goals lifted the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over the Ryerson Rams on Wednesday night (Oct. 12) at Downsview Park.
 
The win improves the Blues to 6-7-1 as they remain in sixth place in the OUA East division. Toronto has secured the tiebreaker over the Rams and await the Nipissing Lakers results to solidify their playoff berth.
 
Scoreless after 45 minutes of action, the Varsity Blues strikers went to work. Third-year striker Chelsea Cheung of Toronto opened the scoring in the 49th minute, with a goal assisted by sophomore striker Natasha Klasios.

A native of Unionville, Ont., Klasios added an insurance marker in the 85th minute. 

Veteran goalkeeper Tori Edgar made eight saves in the clean sheet victory. 
 
The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 22 when they host the Carleton Ravens at Varsity Stadium. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
