BLUES UPSET NO. 9 VOYAGEURS ON THE ROAD

Box Score First-year midfielder Natasha Klasios scored in the 77th minute to help the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the No. 9 Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, September 12 in Sudbury.

With the win, the Blues improve to 3-0-1, remaining undefeated and moving into first place in the OUA East division.

Klasios completed a nice give and go with Ally Rigby to find the back of the net.

"The ball was in the air and I controlled it and gave it to Ally and saw some space open up," said the first-year life science major from Unionville, Ont. "She gave it back to me and I just put my foot through it and it hit the target. We were so pumped. The next thing I recall was being crushed by the team."

Blues goalkeeper Sara Petrucci made 11 saves to earn the shut out victory.

"I think we were around a 7 out of 10 today," commented Petrucci after the game. "We kept the ball in key areas but we can always improve on our defensive shape."

The Varsity Blues are back at it tomorrow as they head to North Bay, Ont., to take on the Nipissing Lakers (1-2-1). Game time is set for 12 p.m.
