The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's curling team qualified for the CIS championship with a bronze-medal finish as the 2015 OUA championships wrapped up Monday evening (Feb. 23) in Guelph.
After narrowly falling, 7-5, to the Western Mustangs in semi-final action, the Blues bounced back in fine form and to defeat Brock 9-3 in the bronze-medal match. The Blues jumped ahead of the  Badgers early and never looked back. Toronto built a 4-0 lead through the third end, and only grew in confidence from there, easily dispatching Brock 9-3 to book their place at the national tournament.
The Laurier Golden Hawks claimed the OUA banner, with Western placing second. All three teams will compete at the 2015 CIS/CCA curling championships, March 18-21, hosted by Laurier.Â
Pedro Malvar was named an OUA second team all-star.Â
