Six different players scored as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team defeated the Trent Excalibur 11-4 on Sunday morning (Oct. 4) at Varsity Centre.
With the win, the Blues improve to 7-0.
Toronto got out to a 4-0 lead before Trent's Leah Ogilvie put the visiting team on the board. The Blues would add two more to take a 6-1 lead at the half.
The Excalibur cut the deficit to three with two early goals, but a late push from Toronto, including three goals in the last three minutes, would secure the victory.
Third-year attacker Sarah Jamieson led the team with three goals, while Mary Anne Meerasabeer, Zoe Chad, and Melissa Holland each scored two. Jessica Kras and Jeska Eedens added single tallies in the win.
The Blues are back at it this afternoon as they host the OUA defending champion Western Mustangs at Varsity Centre. Game time is set for 2:15 p.m.
