The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team fell 14-4 to the OUA defending champion Western Mustangs on Sunday afternoon at Varsity Centre.

Toronto's first loss of the season drops them to 7-1 at the midway point of the year.

The Mustangs got out to a 4-0 lead before Mary Anne Meerasabeer got the Blues on the board. Western would add another before Meerasabeer solved their goalie again. The Mustangs led 5-2 at halftime.

Western exploded for nine goals in the second half with the Blues unable to keep pace.

Jeska Eedens and Jessica Kras added single tallies in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 10 as they host the Queen's Gaels and York Lions at Varsity Centre.
