BLUES COME BACK TO BEAT EXCALIBUR

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat the Trent Excalibur 2-1 on Saturday, October 3 in Peterborough, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 5-2-1 and move into second place in the OUA East division.

The Excalibur opened the scoring with a goal from Abigail Llyod, but the Blues bounced back as rookie sensation and leading scorer Nathasha Klasios scored in the 45th minute to even the game at 1-1 at the half.

Klasios would prove to be the game's hero, netting the game winner in the 65th minute, shooting a loose ball into the corner of the net.

"I don't think we played all that well today but it's good to get the three points," said Klasios after the game.

Team co-captain Olivia Gonsavles agreed: "Our overall performance was not our best however we came out with the result we needed."

The Varsity Blues are back in action tomorrow night as they head to Oshawa to take on the UOIT Ridgebacks. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
