The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team opened their 2014 regular season campaign with a 13-13 tie versus the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday, September 13 in Guelph, Ont.
 
The Blues built a 12-6 lead with 10 minutes to go, but the Hawks rallied and scored seven in the final minutes to draw the game even.
 
Second-year standout Sarah Jamieson of Etobicoke, Ont., led the Blues with seven goals, while veteran Taryn Grieder (Cobourg, Ont.) added three. Katie McCurdy, Carly Heitzner and Jessica Kras each added single tallies in the tie.
 
The Varsity Blues return to the field tomorrow as they travel to London, Ont., to take on the McMaster Marauders and Western Mustangs.
