The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team defeated the Guelph Gryphons 13-3 on Day 1 of the OUA championship (Oct. 31) in Oshawa, Ont.
With the win, the Blues advance to the semi-final round and will take on the Brock Badgers Saturday at 2:15 p.m. for a chance to play in Sunday's gold-medal game. Saturday's tilt versus the Badgers will be streamed live on OUA.tv.
Katie McCurdy and Taryn Grieder led the Blues with five goals apiece, while Melissa Holland added three goals in the victory.
The Blues, who finished the regular season in first place in the East division with a 9-2-1 record, will be out for revenge versus the Badgers. Brock edged Toronto 13-12 in their lone meeting this season.
