BIG WEEKEND FOR WOMEN’S LACROSSE

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team defeated the Trent Excalibur, York Lions and Queen's Gaels this weekend (Oct. 18-19).

The Blues started the weekend with a big 15-2 victory in Peterborough over the Excalibur. Kelly Robinson led the Blues with four goals, while Sarah Jamieson and Christine Neatby each scored three. Melissa Holland added two goals, with Mary Anne Meerasabeer and Larissa Boychuk each adding one in the win.
 
Toronto followed that up with an 18-0 shutout victory over the Lions on Sunday morning. Taryn Grieder led the Blues with five goals, while Aida Shahid had three goals. Neatby and Kristie Liu each had two, with Boychuk, Meersabeer, Lynn Li, Holland, Chantelle Carnegie and Megan Shea each scoring single tallies in the victory.

U of T wrapped up the 3-0 weekend with a narrow 10-9 win over the Queen's Gaels. Katie McCurdy scored a team-high three goals in that game, with Grieder, Holland and Neatby tallying two and Robinson adding one in the win.
 
The Varsity Blues wrap up the regular season next Saturday, October 25 versus the Guelph Gryphons and Trent Excalibur in Guelph, Ont.
