Three different players registered their first career goals as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team defeated the Trent Excalibur 4-0 on Wednesday night (Sept. 11) at Varsity Centre.

With the win, the Blues improve to 2-2-1 and move into fourth place in the OUA East division. The Excalibur drop to 1-4-0 and remain in seventh.

The Blues dominated the entire contest, outshooting the Excalibur 14-1.
First-year striker Brenda Murillo of Richmond, B.C., scored the eventual game-winner in the 28
th minute. Fellow rookie Nicki Parkes (Sarnia, Ont.) as well as Blues leading scorer and co-captain Aisha Lewis (Mississauga) then scored three minutes apart in the 40
th and 43
rd minutes to give the home team a 3-0 lead at the half.

Brampton native and first-year linguistics major Claudia Piazza added an insurance marker in the 49
th minute to round out the 4-0 win.
Sara Petrucci (Bolton, Ont.) made one save in her third-straight shut out performance.Â

The Varsity Blues return to action on Sunday, September 15 as they host the Ryerson Rams at Varsity Centre. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
