The University of Toronto Varsity Blues defeated the McMaster Marauders 9-1 on Day 1 of the OUA women's water polo championship at Varsity Pool.

Team captain Maggie Burlington and Stephanie Watson led the Blues with two goals apiece. Ana Miroslavic, Sydney McDougall, Emily Bidinosti, Stefanie Chapman and Johanna Pinto Lee each scored one in the victory.

The Blues wrap up pool play versus the York Lions tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Varsity Pool. Toronto will be vying for a spot in Sunday's gold-medal match, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
