The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team notched their fifth straight win, defeating the Laurier Golden Hawks 14-7 on Sunday, October 6 at Scarborough Campus.
With the win, the Blues improve to 7-1 with four games remaining in the regular season.
Tied 5-5 at the half, the Blues exploded for nine goals in the second half, led by a five-goal performance from veteran Taryn Grieder (Cobourg, Ont.).
First-year midfielder Melissa Holland and fifth-year attacker Larissa Boychuk each added three goals, while Carly Heitzner, Emily Boyer and Sarah Jamieson had singles tallies in the win.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Sunday, October 13 as they head to Waterloo, Ont., to take on the Trent Excalibur and Queen's Gaels.Â
