GEE-GEES GALLOP OVER BLUES

The Varsity Blues women’s soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday, September 2 at Matt Anthony Field.
 
Ottawa opened the flood gates after a scoreless first half, with rookie striker Vanessa MacMillan notching a hat trick. The Ottawa native scored the first two goals of the match in the 51st and 61st minutes. Alexandra Jotham notched the third in the 70th minute, with Tessa Dimitrakopoulos scoring in the 85th. MacMillan added her third of the game in the 86th minute.
 
Blues goalkeeper Sara Petrucci (Bolton, Ont.) made eight saves in the loss.
 
The Varsity Blues return to the field next Saturday, September 8 when they host the RMC Paladins in their 2012 home opener at Varsity Centre. The game will be streamed live on SSN Canada, starting at 1 p.m.
