The Varsity Blues women’s lacrosse team fell 15-2 to the Guelph Gryphons and 9-6 to the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, September 15 in London, Ont.
Mary Anne Meerasabeer (Mississauga, Ont.) and Susan Tung (Peterborough, Ont.) scored U of T’s only goals of the game versus the Gryphons. Amy Johnson and Dana Skyvington led Guelph with three goals each in the win.
U of T rebounded in the second game of the day, as the game remained tied 3-3 at halftime. The Gryphons surged ahead with three quick goals, with the Blues unable to recover. Katie McCurdy of Orillia, Ont., led the Blues with three goals, with Meersabeer, Tung and Kelly Robinson each adding a single tally in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to the field next Saturday, September 22 when they travel to Kingston, Ont., to take on the Queen’s Gaels and Guelph Gryphons.
