The Varsity Blues men’s curling team defeated the Western Mustangs 7-5 to claim the bronze medal at the 2012 OUA curling championships, February 16-20, hosted by Trent University at the Guelph Curling Club.

Toronto’s men finished atop their pool with a 4-1 record and went onto face the Waterloo Warriors in semi-final action on Monday morning.  A hard fought battle would end in favour of the Warriors, 6-5, in extra ends.

The Blues rebounded with a 7-5 win over the Mustangs in the bronze-medal match.

U of T’s women went 2-4 in pool play with wins over Queen’s and Lakehead but did not advance to the playoff round.
