BLUES TIE LIONS, FALL TO MUSTANGS

The Varsity Blues women’s lacrosse team drew the York Lions to a 4-4 tie before falling 15-4 to the Western Mustangs on Sunday, October 7 at Varsity Centre.

Four different Blues scored in the first game of the day. Carly Heitzner, Marvella Lee, Kelly Robinson and Tasha Watkins each tallied for the Blues, while the Lions were led by a three-goal performance from Staci Crozier.

U of T went onto fall to the OUA defending champion Western Mustangs. The Mustangs got out to a 6-0 lead before the Blues got on the board, and held a 10-1 lead at the half. Kaitlyn Sandy led the Blues with three goals, while Susan Tung had two assists and Heitzner rounded out the scoring with a single tally.

The Varsity Blues return to the field next Saturday, October 13 as they head to Waterloo, Ont., to take on the UOIT Ridgebacks (11:30 a.m.) and Brock Badgers (3 p.m.).
