The Varsity Blues defeated the McMaster Marauders, 10-6, in the consolation final of the 2012 OUA women’s lacrosse championship on Sunday, October 27 in Kingston, Ont.
The Blues placed fifth overall with a 2-1 record on the weekend.
U of T got off to a great start, building a 8-4 lead at the half. Veteran Susan Tung led Toronto with two goals and three assists, while Katie McCurdy had four goals and one assist in the win. Third-year attacker Kaitlin Sandy notched three goals, and Carly Heitzner rounded out the scoring with a single tally of her own.
