The Varsity Blues women’s lacrosse team went 1-1 on Day 1 of the OUA championship (Oct. 27), hosted by the Queen’s Gaels in Kingston, Ont.
The Blues fell 9-3 to the Laurier Golden Hawks in their first game of the day, but rebounded with a big 7-3 win over Brock to earn a spot in tomorrow’s consolation final.
Toronto will play the winner of York/McMaster for fifth place at noon tomorrow.
Kaitlyn Sandy, Katie McCurdy and Susan Tung each scored once in Toronto’s loss to Laurier.
McCurdy then came back to lead the Blues with three goals and one assists in their win over Brock. Sandy had two goals, while Megan Keane and Megan Shea each added a single goal in the win.
