The Varsity Blues women’s lacrosse team dropped a 12-7 decision to the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, October 1 at Varsity Centre.
Down 4-3 at the half, the Marauders climbed their way back and took control, thanks to a six-goal performance from Jackie Heaton. Despite their best efforts, including two late goals from veteran Taryn Grieder, the Blues could not complete the comeback and dropped their third game of the season.
A native of Cobourg, Ont., Grieder led the Blues with three goals and one assist. Sophomore middie Tori Wasson added two goals, while Susan Tung and Katie McCurdy notched single tallies in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow as they host a pair of games versus the Laurier Golden Hawks and Guelph Gryphons at Varsity Centre. Game times are set for 10:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., respectively.
