WOMEN’S SOCCER TIES RAVENS

For the second consecutive game, the Varsity Blues women’s soccer team recorded a 0-0 tie, this time against the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, September 25 at Varsity Centre.

With the draw, the Blues are 3-1-3 and sit in third place, while the Carleton Ravens (1-2-2) remain in seventh place in the OUA East divison.

Toronto controlled the majority of the game; however, neither team generated many solid scoring opportunities. Jessica Fantozzi of Richmond Hill, Ont., recorded a game-high two shots on goal, however, could not solve Carleton goalkeeper Rachel Bedek (St. Thomas, Ont.).

The Blues best chance came in the 82nd minute when leading scorer Kate Crowley (Londont, Ont.) jumped on a Laura Machado (Mississauga, Ont.) rebound, but the ball sailed over the net.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 2 when they travel to the nation’s capital to take on the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
