The Varsity Blues women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Carleton Ravens on Sunday, October 3 at Ravens’ Field in Ottawa.
The Blues dominated offensively, outshooting the Ravens 15-5 over 90 minutes of action. U of T’s leading scorer Kate Crowley of London, Ont., led the way with six shots, while Mel Seabra and Andrea Czryka had three apiece.
After a scoreless first half, Carleton’s Alexandria Druggett finally got her squad on the board early in the second for the eventual game-winner.
U of T had a chance to tie it with a free kick in the final minute of the game, but Carleton goalkeeper Rachel Bedek was there to secure the shutout win.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, October 8 when they host the Laurentian Lady Vees at Varsity Centre. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
