BLUES BLANK EXCALIBUR

Jessica Fantozzi’s goal in the 17th minute would prove to be the game winner as the Varsity Blues women’s soccer team shut out the Trent Excalibur 3-0 on Wednesday, October 20 in Peterborough, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 7-3-4 and sit in third place in the OUA East division.

Shirley Ho of Calgary added Toronto’s second marker in the 30th minute as the Blues built a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Fourth-year striker Tessa Dimitrakopoulos (Richmond Hill, Ont.) added some insurance in the last minute of the match to round out the 3-0 win.

Blues goalkeeper Kat Vulic of Oakville, Ont., made one save in the shut out victory.

The Varsity Blues return home on Saturday, October 23 when they host the Excalibur at Varsity Centre. Game time is 1 p.m.
