The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s curling team went 2-1 at the OUA East sectional this weekend (Jan. 17-18) hosted by the Laurier Golden Hawks.
The Blues started off the weekend with a tightly contested match against the Laurentian Voyageurs and came out on top with a 6-5 victory. However, Toronto ran into a strong Queen’s Gaels team in their second game on Saturday and fell 9-3.
The Blue and White ended on a high note, edging the Trent Excalibur 6-5 on Sunday morning.
The Varsity Blues return to action Jan. 30 – Feb. 1, when they travel to St. Catharines, Ont. for the OUA crossover hosted by the Brock Badgers.
