First-year goalie Alex Bishop totaled 70 saves and earned his first career shutout in leading the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team to a four-point weekend.

The Richmond Hill, Ont., native made 27 saves, including 11 in a penalty-filled second period, as the Blues topped the Windsor Lancers 4-0 at home on Friday night. The shutout marked Bishop’s first of his Varsity Blues career.

A social science major, Bishop followed that up with a season-high 43-save performance to lead U of T to a come-from-behind 2-1 overtime victory over the No. 5 nationally ranked Brock Badgers on Saturday night in St. Catharines. Bishop posted 20 saves in the first period alone.
