A second-year engineering major from Toronto, Lucia Stafford placed second in both the 1000m and 1500m as the Varsity Blues women’s track and field team finished second overall at the 2018 U SPORTS championships this past weekend in Windsor.
 
Stafford earned the 1000m silver medal on Friday with a time of 2:44.39. She went onto place second in the women’s 1500m, crossing the finish line in 4:25.69, on Saturday.
 
The 2017-18 U SPORTS track athlete of the year also ran the third leg of Toronto’s 4x400 relay team, which placed sixth overall in 3:49.42.
